This is the perfect holiday house (8 sleeper) to spend a relaxed carefree holiday. Overlooking a bird sanctuary and in a secure complex this modern holiday house is centrally situated in the village - walking distance to the shops, restaurants, the lagoon and a few minutes drive to a choice of beautiful beaches. The house has a spacious open plan living area, 4 bedrooms, 2 full bathrooms and a well equipped kitchen. A large covered patio onto a garden allows you to enjoy the outdoors. The facilities include a fully equipped kitchen with a stove, oven, microwave, fridge/freezer, a garage with a washing machine, dryer and bar fridge and a weber braai. There are 2 TV's, DSTV (bring your own card) and a DVD player. All linen and bath towels are included but please bring your own beach towels. The house is a non-smoking house. Servicing of the house during your stay can arranged at an additional cost. Wild Oats Farmers Market and Scarab Craft Market are every Saturday morning. You can buy breakfast, fresh produce and home-made delicacies directly from the farmers. It is a must for any weekend visitor. Excellent bird watching in the bird sanctuary and in the surrounding areas. Other activities to enjoy within a 25km range include golfing for all at world-class golf resorts - Pezula, Simola and Fancourt or the local mashi course. Surfing is enjoyed at Victoria and Buffalo-Bays, great mountain bike tracks in the forests, paragliding from the dunes, hiking in the nature reserves, quad biking, canoeing and much much more...

Annie's Cottage

Annie's Cottage is a comfortable Three bedroom self-catering single storey house in a quiet modern gated complex in Sedgefield. It overlooks lovely tended gardens with a backdrop of covered dunes and forest. Very well situated, it is just 2 minutes' walk from the edge of the lagoon, within 5 minutes' drive of one of the nearest beautiful beaches and in walking distance of the supermarket, shops, cafes and restaurants. The sleeping facilities can accommodate up to 6 adults, including teenagers. The MASTER bedroom has a Queen size bed, ensuite bathroom with separate shower, ceiling fan, hair dryer, lockable safe and tv. The DOUBLE bedroom has an ensuite bathroom with separate shower and tv. The TWIN bedroom has a shower room and wc adjoining. The three bedrooms have ample fitted wardrobe space, 100% cotton sheets and quality towels. Some swimming towels are available. The spacious open plan living area includes a fully equipped kitchen with fridge/freezer, microwave, oven with ceramic hob, dishwasher, washing machine and tumble dryer; and a 6-seater dining table and two comfortable sofas, 2 tub chairs, a ceiling fan, tv and a dvd player. Wifi and Premium DSTV channels are included. The Weber braai has the necessary accompanying implements, pans and serving dishes which can be used on the front or rear stoeps. There is a retractable hanging line at the rear of the cottage, and a portable drying frame stored in the garage with umbrellas and seating for the stoeps. The cottage is fitted with an alarm system and the garage is remotely controlled. Please note the following: There is a No Smoking rule inside the cottage, but guests are most welcome to smoke outside on the front and rear stoeps. Trailers with boats are not permitted in the Complex. Regretfully, we are unable to allow pets.   Sedgefield is in a very desirable location in the heart of the Garden Route being a 20 minute drive from Knysna with its famous waterfront, upmarket boutiques and restaurants. The town of George with its excellent shopping mall is 25 minutes' drive in the opposite direction, passing through Wilderness with its outstanding beach on the way. Visitors to Sedgefield can enjoy many outdoor activities in the area, including paragliding from the dunes, fishing, mountain biking in the forests, hiking, bird watching, safe swimming in the lagoon as well as enjoying the beautiful beaches. The Wild Oats Farmers' Market on a Saturday morning is a must for breakfast, and the stalls with their varied selections of fresh produce, delicacies and home made preserves are tempting to the pallet!

Bird Cottage

Situation: Bird Cottage is situated in the village of Sedgefield and in the heart of the Garden Route. Features: Bird Cottage is spacious and comfortable with all mod-cons including an automatic washing machine. The bedroom has an en-suite bathroom. Also a lounge/dining room with sleeper couch, a serving area and a kitchenette. There is also off-street parking, a private garden and barbecue. The Guinea-Room Suite is a large, comfortable room with en-suite bathroom, double bed, sleeper couch and also fully self-catering with off-street parking. Ideal for an over-night stop. (Smoking is not permitted inside) Round And About: Twenty minutes either way to George and Knysna. Steam train trips available between Knysna, Sedgefield and George, return. Plettenberg Bay an easy drive for a day trip. In the greater Sedgefield area beautiful beaches, walks and lakes can be found. Excellent bird watching. Assistance and advice on birding, hikes, guided walks etc.

Chateau Anri la Mer

Chateau Anri LaMer is a self catering home situated on the banks of the Swartvlei lagoon at the lovely town of Sedgefield in the heart of the garden route. Sedgefield has three lovely beaches and also offers safe swimming in the lagoon mouth where it enters the sea. The area is renowned for the mild weather. It lies between Wilderness and Knysna and a host of activities and attractions are available in the vicinity. Chateau Anri la Mer has five bedrooms and sleeps eleven. It has three bathrooms, one of them en-suite to the main bedroom. All the bedrooms are on the first floor with excellent views over the Swartvlei. The house is very large and has a huge fully equipped kitchen. We also use the house as a holiday home and it is therefore equipped to be an extremely comfortable home from home. There is a television lounge on the first floor. On the ground floor is another large playroom-lounge, a dining room and the kitchen. The large house is ideal even for those very few days in a year where the weather is not the normal ideal weather of this area and the family may be forced to stay inside. The outside lawn is large and ideal for keeping the active members occupied when they are not on the beach. In the garage is a stable two man Canoe that may used for paddling on the Swartvlei lake. The house may be large, but especially out of season it is still ideal for only a couple and is ideal for a honeymoon breakaway.

Crane Walk Corner

This is a private and luxurious, upstairs self-catering Apartment that overlooks the Swartvlei Lagoon and sleeps 2 people. This accommodation is ideally suited for overseas visitors with longer stays in mind. The apartment has a Queen-sized bed and walk-in dressing room that provides plenty of space for personal belongings. Ther's a full bathroom (bath & shower) with under-floor heating for the winter chill. There are 2 wall heaters in the open areas. A fully equipped kitchen includes a microwave oven, fridge/freezer, washing machine/tumble drier (combo), hob & under counter oven. A full size grocery cupboard allows you to store all the provisions you may need. There's a comfortable lounge area to watch TV - full DSTV with dual decoder - that has all the regular channels that is independent of the main house. A private outdoor patio has a Swartvlei lagoon view. It has a built-in braai and sun loungers are provided. Off-road parking for a single vehicle is available in the back yard at the foot of the stairs to the apartment. A remote will be given to guests for the automated gate. Crane Walk Corner is within easy walking distance of all the local shops and restaurants. With nature all around you, you can relax and soak up the ambiance and laid back atmosphere of this Slow Town affiliated to Cittaslow in Italy. There is a lot of information about the area available in the apartment and your hosts are on hand to assist you if needed. Deja Vu Cottage

Deja Vu Cottage which is an independent free standing property is situated in the beautiful Village neighbourhood of Sedgefield, only 300 metres from the lagoon, and is designed to cater for all your needs. It is fully furnished and equipped to accommodate 4 people comfortably and provides two bedrooms. The main bedroom has a queen size bed and the second bedroom has two single beds, all with quality bedding and ample cupboard space. Luxury bath sheets and hand towels are provided per guest. A sleeper couch in the lounge is available if necessary. Separating the bedrooms is a shower with the necessary facilities. There is also an outside shower available to cool off, or rinse off after time spent on the beach. The 'Cottage' has an open plan kitchen/lounge with dining table and chairs. Outside there is a covered patio, with table and chairs, which leads onto a large well maintained garden with surrounding picket fence. Elfransa Beach Cottage is situated on the front row of Myoli Beach, 150m from the main swimming area and whale-watching platform. This 90 square meter two-bedroom cottage is fully furnished with all amenities for 6 people (max. 5 adults) to enjoy a safe and relaxing holiday in the magnificent Garden Route. Have a holiday to remember as you relax and unwind in your comfortable home-from-home. Fully fenced with electric gate and alarm system, your safety will not be compromised, whilst secure parking and a lockable safe for your valuables, further ensure peace of mind. Islandwood

Islandwood offers a self-catering unit, housed on the ground floor of a wooden house. The accommodation is perfect for two adults, plus two children/adults (in the bunk beds), the bathroom being accessible from both bedroom and living area. Easily accessible from the N2 and situated on the "Island" of Sedgefield. Separate entrance and off-road parking. Accommodation The unit comprises of one bedroom with en suite bathroom with shower. The large comfortable living area has DSTV, fire place for those chilly winter nights, bunk beds (also suitable for adults), separate fully equipped kitchen, (washing machine in bathroom). The Kingfisher Corner

There are 2 cottages available on the same property. Each is completely separate and relatively private. The Kingfisher Corner is comfortably furnished and has a good view towards the mountains and the estuary. The Other Corner is more beach cottagy, and has everything you would need, including an outstanding view over the lagoon. Both have fully equipped kitchens and spacious living areas as well as a balcony with Weber. Each has a main bedroom with a queen size double bed and another bedroom with twin beds. 2 bathrooms in each, with showers that are wheelchair friendly. Garaging is provided for a standard car. Television and free Wi-Fi are available. The property is located on the edge of the estuary, and steps allow visitors to access the lagoon directly from the property, where swimming, fishing, canoeing and boating can be enjoyed. Also, the beach is a short walk away. The cottages allow you to relax and enjoy the area without feeling as if you are in suburbia. The village is less than 2 kilometers away where most services are available. Sedgefield is also a good starting point for walking (along the beach or forests or mountains), mountain biking, surfing, and just chilling. Half way between George and Knysna means that you have the best of both worlds when staying here. The Kingfisher Corner accommodates 4 and The Other Corner can accommodate 6. Both cottages are wheelchair friendly throughout.

Cliffhanger is a luxurious self catering timber chalet perched on the edge of a steep drop into a forested valley with sweeping, un-spoilt views of the Outeniqua Mountains. Knysna Chalets

Knysna Chalets is found close to the village of Knysna, which is a great place for shopping and dining with a brewery, top-class restaurants and lots of waterfront attractions. Rosedene

Rosedene is a beautiful holiday home that offers a relaxed getaway as well as both privacy and convenience. It is spacious and tastefully decorated with a home from home feel. The open plan dining and kitchen area is spacious, and there is a separate breakfast bar area. A large lounge opens onto a covered veranda that overlooks the garden with established trees and shrubs attracting indigenous bird life including Knysna Loeries and Malachite Sunbirds. Belvidere Rosedene is located in Belvidere, a private estate on the outskirts of Knysna. Situated on the western shore of the Knysna lagoon, Belvidere is far enough away to be serenely peaceful yet close enough to Knysna central to take advantage of the many tourist attractions in the area. The lovely Brenton-on-Sea beach is a 10 minute drive away, while the popular Buffalo Bay beach is an easy 20 minute drive. Take a short walk to the lagoon and fish from the shore, or paddle among the boats. Stroll to the Belvidere Manor Hotel where Caroline's Bistro offers fine dining while The Bell offers delicious pub fare. It is difficult to define the charm and character of Belvidere which has a fascinating history and has been continuously occupied for more than 200 years. This unspoilt destination is perfect for nature lovers, outdoor activities and relaxation. Accommodation Three of the five bedrooms (all downstairs) are available and are elegantly furnished, sleeping up to 6 people. The main bedroom with queen size bed has an en-suite bathroom.  The family wing has a queen bed in one room and two singles in the other, with a large dedicated bathroom. The courtyard has a shower and loo, ideal for washing off the sand and salt after a day on the beach.  One lock-up garage and one covered carport are available. Elephant Rest Forest Cottage

Elephant Rest is a private, tranquil getaway retreat experience. Situated on the edge of the awesome Lawnwood indigenous forest. Experience the peace and beauty of nature, abundant bird life, close to mountain biking, hikes, waterfalls, rivers for canoeing and within 20 mins of supremely beautiful, safe beaches for swimming, surfing, SUPing and much more. Elephant Rest is in close proximity to the well known Homtini cycle route which takes one up to the most magnificent view points and in the correct season, one can marvel at the fynbos and proteas or just take in the views over the Outeniqua mountains as the mist rises and plays over the forested area, home to an abundant wildlife and the last few remaining free roaming elephants. The famous author, Dalene Matthee has hikes named after her mythical and historical books, one of them being, "Circles in the Forest". We offer an informative guided tour about the book and information about the trees, plants, myths and legends by our local tour guide. We also offer Aromatherapy massage by request in the comfort of the cottage. We offer facilitated yoga on request. Elephant Rest also offers childrens tee shirt painting, fun ,creative and you get to wear your own art! The open plan spacious kitchen, dining, lounge area enables one to move around with ease. The kitchen is fully equipped with a microwave, small oven, large fridge and freezer, coffee plunger and all the necessary cutlery and crockery one needs down to washing up liquid. There are beautiful wooden counter tops and plenty of cupboard space. There is also a small pantry. The main bedroom has a double bed with en suite toilet , sink and shower and own private door leading out onto the spacious beautiful wooden deck, overlooking the dam and farmlands. The second main bedroom has a double bed and also leads onto the deck. There is a second bathroom with a bath, sink and toilet. The third bedroom has 2 single beds. All the bedrooms have plenty of built in cupboard space. Elephant Rest is wheel chair friendly, enabling easy access to the deck by rolling comfortably from the main, indoor area onto the sheltered deck. In the balmy summer evenings, we have a fire pit to build a bonfire or to braai in and in winter, we have an indoor fireplace to snuggle up to.We do sell wood and starter wood on the premises. Because of the space, Elephant Rest is ideal for small groups and family gatherings. The spacious deck is great for group discussions or intimate parties.
